Greetings in the name of the Precious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” NIV

Bishop Jesudas R. Kanapala was born on November 3rd, 1938 at 2:15 AM to Kanapala Premaiah and Kamalamma in Pedapalem (Guntur District). On January 1st, 1939, his aunt Kanapala Mariamma, believer of The Pentecostal Mission (TPM), named him as Jesudas. His schooling started in 1943 where he attended Pedapalem Elementary School for five years. He then started secondary school (SSLC) at Pedapalem Zilla Parishath High School where he received the top rank in the whole school. Due to financial situations, the village elders funded him to pursue higher studies. With the support of the elders, he joined Andhra Christian College for PUC (MPC Group) in 1956-1958 Though he received top honors in PUC, he was not able to join the Engineering program due to his financial situations. Instead, he joined Bachelors of Arts (BA) Mathematics, Politics, and Economics from 1958-1961 in Andhra Christian College. During that time, he received the Top Honors Award in the Indian Constitution of Politics (ICP). After completing his Bachelor’s Degree in 1961, he received a job offer in the Department of Telecom General and got a posting in Visakhapatnam. After the completion of his training for one year at Visakhapatnam, he got transferred to Eluru. He married Puli Krupamma on May 29th, 1962. While he was working in Eluru, at the Central Government, he tutored SLC and PUC students and taught Math, Physics, Chemistry, and English. In 1973, he was transferred to Guntur. While he was there, he contracted typhoid in the month of July. His fever showed no signs of going away and he even went to his sickbed. In that time, Jesus appeared to him in a vision showing his wounds saying, “I will heal you and use you for My Glory.” He showed him a Bible and said to “do his service” and told him to bring new souls to salvation. In 1974, he received salvation, and at the same time, he got a promotion as a Senior Superintendent at his workplace. While he was working at the Central Government, he noticed very few Christian people working in the Central Government. After seeing this, God gave him the privilege to hire more Christian and economically poor from different sects (around 25-30) into the Central Government during 1975-1983. Based on his performance at his workplace, he was awarded at the national level and promoted to Branch Chief. While he was working, he used to do village ministry every Saturday and Sunday to preach the gospel amongst poor and non-beleivers. He used to be a Lutheran believer but after he met Apostle Yesanna Garu in 1987, he became part of Hosanna Ministries. On November 30, 1997, he retired and had a prayer service. At the retirement prayer service, Apostle Yesanna Garu was moved by the spirit and requested him to preach to surrounding churches in Hosanna Ministries. On July 1st, 1998, he was ordained as a Bishop to Hosanna Ministries at the Hosanna Ministries All Indian Hosanna Ministries Pastors Conference and was anointed with the Holy Spirit. After that, Apostle Yesanna Garu expanded Bishop Jesudas’ services to more churches in Hosanna Ministries. While he was preaching the Word of God, he was inspired to study Bachelor of Divinity (BD). In 2004, he traveled to the United States of America (USA) and preached to the Telugu congregations in Philadelphia, New Jersey, and New York. In 2009, he made a second visit to America and preached to the Telugu congregations in Maryland and Virginia. During that time, International Prayer Group Ministries honored him with the Doctorate of Divinity in the USA. In 2011, he got a mild stroke and was admitted to the hospital. As God spoke to Hezekiah to increase his life, he spoke to him saying, “ This is what the LORD, the God of your father David says, I will add 15 years [10 years to Bishop Jesudas] to your life.” Isaiah 38:5. In 2015, he visited the U.S. again and participated in Hosanna Ministries Crusades. He is blessed with 4 children and 10 grandchildren. His eldest son, Pastor Prasad Kanapala (Spouse: Ananda Kumari), is serving the Lord in Kandukur (Ongole District). His daughter Sunitha Puli is a college principal and his son-in-law Dr. Ravi Puli, is a Deputy Director of Animal Husbandry (Veterinarian services). His 2nd son, K. Sudhakar (Spouse: Syamala), is a divisional engineer (APSEB). His youngest son, Prabhakar (Spouse: Anitha) settled in the USA as a senior IT manager in Virginia. Bishop Jesudas’ grandchildren are Crown Hosanna, Throne Hosanna, Ravi Teja, Ravi Shine, Ravi Kiran, Zenith, Spandana, Joy Havily, Marygold, and David. Bishop Jesudas was 82 years old when he slept with Lord on July 13, 2020 at 8 PM IST. He has saved many souls and is now resting peacefully with the Lord. God always reminded him of 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24, “ Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful, He will surely do it.” He also reminded him of 2 Corinthians 15:16, “ For we are to God, the pleasing aroma of Christ, among those who are being saved and those who are perishing.” Amen!
