Main Street Collierville[edit]

Main Street Collierville is a center that has the widest variety of purposes with its businesses, tourist attractions, restaurants, and sense of heritage. ^[1] It serves as an area for events to be held as well, as it greatly promotes them. This is supported by local governments, citizens, and businesses. ^[2] There are membership options for people who would like to join the program aimed to develop a continuously prospering community. The "Town Square" in Collierville is apart of Main Street Collierville and is the area where most people walk around leisurely. It includes nice attractions and small shops.

The are many things that Main Street Collierville aims to do. It is located at 94 N Main St, Collierville, TN 38017. Countless people and businesses come together to form a thriving district for locals and tourists. Most of the businesses are situated in the 1900's homes surrounding the Town Square. ^[3] The Town Square is a unique area with architectural styles serving many purposes. ^[4] The environment is very peaceful, making it a nice place to take pictures, browse shops, and enjoy everything it has to offer. Throughout the seasonal times of the year, Main Street Collierville and its Town Square is used to host events. They are typically family-friendly where guests could bring friends to make the best of the holidays. There have been fascinating set-ups and parades for these activities.

Main Street Collierville has its own story of how it developed into what it is today. In February of 1870, it served as Collierville's major business center that allowed the town to progress following the civil war. ^[5] Construction began at this point as it started to create a "town square". Then in 1876, a two-story high bandstand was an addition to the area until it was completely destroyed by a tornado in 1955. As a result, the eight-sided gazebo that is now recognized as the heart of the square was constructed in place of it.

The Town Square consists of many attractions! There are boutiques, restaurants, specialty shops, and museums. ^[6] The construction of the square also includes extraordinary features aside from the shops. There is a gazebo, telephone booth, log cabin, and several trains in which people could tour inside of. With these interesting aspects, residents or tourists are able to explore and take cool photographs.
