I am Kaushik Sarkar, also known as Bengal Tiger. I'm born and brought up in Kolkata(Calcutta), West Bengal, India.

Currently I am working with HSBC Technologies and Services in Kolkata, India. Prior to this I was working with the same company in Hyderabad, India. I started my career with Anandabazar Patrika Pvt. Ltd., Kolkata which is a leading publishing house in India.

I had my education in The Frank Anthony Public School, Calcutta, from where I took an ICSE in 1996 and ISC in 1999. My school days were the most wonderful days in my life. I still remember them with a heart full of glee. Fond memories are there still in my heart like a piece of gold ornament which has been used by generations but has not lost its glow and lustre.

After that I did my graduation from SA Jaipuria College. I completed my B.Com(Honours) from the college, under The University of Calcutta, in 2002.

I like reading books, controversial entries attract me the most. My biggest passion is The Mahabharata followed by Feluda. My favourite books are of course those by Satyajit Ray. I also love reading books by Sunil Gangopadhyay, Bani Basu and Samaresh Majumdar. In English, I like Alexandre Dumas the most, along with Charles Dickens, Arthur Conan Doyle and Agatha Christie. I like quite a few of Jules Verne novels too. Other books I like are Ken Abel, The Godfather, The Da Vinci Code. I also like listening to music. Rabindrasangeet is my favourite. And also music composed by Satyajit Ray. I also like scores by A. R Rahman. I also like watching and playing cricket. I am a die-hard fan of Sourav Ganguly, and a supporter of Kolkata Knight Riders. My favourite cricketers are Sourav Ganguly, Wasim Akram and Sachin Tendulkar.

My most exquisite days in watching cricket was during the days of Ganguly, more so during his stint as The India Captain. How I used to enjoy watching his elegant square drives, his exquisite off cuts and his massive over-boundaries over the mid-wicket. As Rahul Dravid rightly commented, "Sourav is second to only God on the off-side."

I also loved to watch Wasim Akram bowling. The Sultan of Swing had always mesmerised me with his incredible reverse-swings and his devastating yorkers. Akram bowling and Ganguly batting was just like the war of the gods -- or a combat between Arjjuna and Karna. In a match between India and Pakistan, although I always used to support India, I still used to wish Akram to show a wonderful spell.

I always wanted to see a day when Ganguly and Akram will go down to the pitch for the toss. Unfortunately that never happened. Once Akram retired, I wished if he can ever be seen in India blues, sharing the same dressing-room with Ganguly, as the bowling coach if not the coach. Unfortunately even that did not turn out. However, my dream is to be realised to some extent now. Akram is the bowling coach and consultant for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL-3. At last Sourav Ganguly and Wasim Akram will be sharing the same dressing-room wearing the same jersey. What a feast for the eye it'll be.
