The Pink Jack is the British LGBTQI flag symbolising a gay British identity. It also represents a Britain that recognises the rights and equality of LGBTQI citizens
The flag was created by British artist David Gwinnutt and first launched at London's gay pride march in 2006 [1] [2]
The flag is a play on the traditional Union Jack Union Jack replacing the blue triangle sections with the colour pink, referencing the Pink triangle homosexuals were marked with in the Nazi concentration camps
In 2013 Gwinnutt was voted 16th in the Independent Newspaper's Pink List of the most influential LGBT people in Britain in recognition of the significance of the design [3]
