Introduction
[edit]Welcome to my Wikipedia user page. My name is Ken JP Stuczynski, and I am proud to be a contributing editor for Wikipedia. I also am currently developing another wiki from scratch at WNYWildlife.Com, which has already pushed me to learn new WP skills, such as making sortable tables and templates.
Background
[edit]I am formally educated in Philosophyand Psychology [1] with coursework in communications, ethics, journalism, statistics, and various other fields, with even more varied personal studies and interests. Over the years I have done informal study in many subjects, including scripture, anthropology, astronomy, comparative world religions, chi kung and martial arts, cult phenomenon, world history, and pretty much anything else that comes my way.
My Wikipedia History
[edit]My first foray into editing here was during my research into Avatar, the NRM started and run by Harry Palmer. Already being a fan of WP, I found the entry helpful, and the discussion on this particular topic told its own story as well. The subject is controversial with heated opposing POVs, even to the extent that there has been repeated vandalism in the form of deleting references that were negative to the subject. Which is when I stepped in -- someone replaced most of the content and references (including links to court docs) with an advertisement for the subject. So my first major edit was a Revert, which I learned how to do on the fly.
Not being associated with either the subject or its critics, I felt my research and training in objectivity (which is a sacred skill to me) would add verifiable references as well as ensure some balance between views without having to delete quality content. My studies in psychology and world religions also enabled me to see the subject in context of larger categories. However, I received personal attacks and accusations of lying for posting facts I had even verified myself, and I decided it wasn't worth fighting or hurting relationships with others who are pro-subject just because some of the facts available are contrary to their beliefs. therefore, I may or may not make additional edits, though I did succeed in furthering the article with more information, cleaning up some non-NPOV language and assumed implications of the facts on both sides.
From here, I may go to other topics and make helpful adjustments, or even add information (with references, of course) to subjects I am familiar with.
But be gentle with me. I'm still new at this, trying to expand and improve my WP skills, and welcome any criticism that may be helpful.

Steel Winds
[edit]A major wind energy project was created near where I live, and it inspired me to make my first new page on Wikipedia. I'm researching what I can, and I've compiled enough resources to make the start of what I think will be a good article. It can be found here. Ken JP Stuczynski 16:51, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Others have developed the article a bit since I created it, but changed a bunch of the company references. Maybe the project changed hands, the the original companies I listed appeared to have been accurate. If I get time, I'll review a bit. Ken JP Stuczynski (talk) 17:43, 14 January 2011 (UTC)
New Entries
[edit]One of my long-term plans in life is to find things that ought to be documented online that aren't and ... well ... DOCUMENT them. Current entries / topics I am looking to add to Wikipedia:
- The New York Photo League's Harlem Document, in particular Richard Lyons (Photojournalist)
