Kenjoki Ikari:

Pronunciation - ken-JOE-key eye-CAR-ee

Background of the name:

[edit]

"Kenjoki" is derived from a random sequence of keys pressed on a keyboard out of sheer boredom. It means nothing in any language, as far as I know.

"Ikari" is not derived from Neon Genesis Evangelion. Many people think it is, but the pronunciation is different from the way Shinji Ikari's name is pronounced. Shinji Ikari uses the Japanese pronunciation of the I; which is an "E" sound, rather than the American pronunciation of "I" such as the word "Eye". "Ikari" actually comes from an old game for the NES system, which was named Ikari Warriors.
