Nnawuba Onyebuchi Clemsy (born 24th March 1990), better known by his stage name Clemzy, is a Nigerian record producer and musician. He is popularly known for the tag “Bring D Hit Clemzy” at the beginning or end of all his music productions.[1]
He has worked with several artists and musicians, such as L.A.X (musician), 2Baba, Larry Gaaga, Mr Eazi, Tiwa Savage, among others. Clemzy is credited to have created the Afropiano sound with the song GO LOW BY L.A.X (musician) , this is just one of the many hits Clemzy is responsible for. In 2022 he produced chart topping songs, LOYALTY by Ajebo Hustlers and CERTIFIED LONER by Mayorkun
Background
[edit]Clemzy was born and raised in Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria. He also spent some of his teen years in Port Harcourt City. He moved to Lagos and started production shortly after.[2]
Musical Career
[edit]As one of the pioneers of the Afropiano sound in Nigeria, Clemzys’[3] first production credit work was for L.A.X (musician) first studio album ”RASAKING” in 2018 where he produced three Tracks off the album, since then he has remained focused and dedicated to his craft. Clemzy has worked with big international artists such as Tekno (musician), Peruzzi, Simi (singer), Mayorkun, Falz, Ycee, & many more.
In 2020, he produced GOBE and LOOSE MY MIND by L.A.X (musician) and NEIGHBOR by Tekno (musician) off the "OLD ROMANCE" album. Clemzy has continued to evolve his production sound.
In 2021, he teamed up with L.A.X (musician) again to produce GO LOW and SEMPE off his album “ZAZA VIBES”. He is also responsible for the record GOD FORBID by Peruzzi off the "RUM & BOOGIE" album and Mayorkun first single in 2021 LET ME KNOW off the “BACK IN OFFICE” Album.
In 2022, he worked closely with Ajebo Hustlers and Mayorkun to create chart topping records such as LOYALTY and CERTIFIED LONER respectively.
Clemzy is one of the best afrobeat producers in the industry and has plans to do much more. His goal is to continue using his talent in creating new vibes and infusing afrobeats with other genres of music.
