The team of people behind Ibo Island Lodge are both professional and dynamic. We are also deeply passionate about our lodge and product, and the positive impact it has made on this once forgotten island of Ibo. Mozambique, a stretch of island on the Indian Ocean is bodied by South Africa and Tanzania. Mozambique is a country that brims with remote, idyllic beaches and breath-taking landscapes, natural sanctuary of wildlife and natural gas resource. The country has always been a big draw for discerning tourist for its heritage that has preserved itself, that earned Mozambique the status of world heritage site. The island boasts of a long coastline and moderately tropical climate that is ideal for surfers and beach lovers. Mozambique Island, also known as the Island of Mozambique, is famous for its rich and varied history and heritage and its sandy beaches.
Pemba, a port to the south west of the peninsula is a must visit on the list of tourists. Mostly inhabited by macaws and machines, the place is especially famous for its market, souk notable for silverware. It is a haven for water sport and diving aficionados. It is well connected to the neighboring countries and is in close proximity to Mozambique Island, the Quirimbas National park and islands. The islands, an archipelago of 30 islands was previously home to fishermen, and the population inflated and the economy boomed due to trading. It is famous for its panoramic driving sites. The Banning national park boasts of varied species of fish, African lungfish and a couple of killifish species being the most popular. The park is funded and supervised by African wildlife foundation. Other fascinating places in the Mozambique Island are the Palace and Chapel of São Paulo, the Museum of Sacred Art, the Church of Santo Antonio; the Church of the Misericórdia, Makati Town, the 40 km Cocas Beach and the Chapel of Nose Sonora de Baluarteaz.
The Nassau Reserve, a nature reserve is the largest in the country and is located in the Cabot Delgado province. It is lined by the Rovuma which goes on to outline Tanzania and is twice as large as the Kruger Park. It is a part of Mambo woodlands.
