KINAVOOR GRAMAM,

(OR KARINTHALAM GRAMAM)

Kinavoor is an ancient Karantholam/ Karinthalam village capital, where most renowned ancient Hindu temple exists named Kinavoor Molom (Grama Devatha Temple). It is believed that the temple is 3500 years old. The temple deity is Shree Dharma Shasthav, and Maha Vishnu. (Shree Dharmashasta -Maha vishnu Temple complex) The temple Administration by Kinavoor Puthumana Family. The chief priest of the temple is so called Tharananellur Namboothiripad (tekkinedath) of Irangalikuda, Thrissur.

As per mithology Kinavoor Dharmasatha God is Lord of  four deshas vide Kayyur, Cheemeni , Pothavoor and Karinthalam. The temple have it's dominance in those lands which was previously under this temple's land limit.It is believed that the Kinavoor village is capital of Ancient Karinthalam village. Karinthalam village is one of the 64 Ancient Brahmana Gramas of Ancient Kerala. The art ,culture and rituals of this land is closely related to Kinavoor Molom Temple. The kings of Nileshwaram Kingdom had there own residence at Kinavoor named Kinavoor Kovilakam.

The Karinthalam Idayil veedu family , famous for Karinthalam Kalari ( thulu nadan kalaripayattu) administration, have deep relationship with this Kinavoor Kovilakam. Karinthalam Gurikkal was very famous as the teacher of martial arts of kerala, one of the Gurikkal of Karinthalam Kalari was the Teacher of so-called Thacholi othena kurup.

Kinavoor Edam Temple ( Nileshwaram King's warrior's family temple) had maintained a kalari since 650 years for to teach martial arts to the warriors of the land. Karinthalam Gurikkal was the teacher for this also.

The village is one of the Paithrika villages of Kerala, where diffrent community people maintained their own heritage and rituals purely and as per tradition.

Kinavoor Kirathedhwara Temple ( Kinavoor Idam),Karimoola Padar kulangara Devasthanam, Kannan kunnu Devasthanam, Kinavoor Muchilot, Kaniyada Deva sthanam, Chathoth Mahavishnu temple, kayyur vettakorumakan temple, cheemeni devasthanam, Karinthalam kalari and Peringara Bhagavati temple were the main temples related to Kinavoor Grama sankalpas.Temples of Keezmala, Andol, Kiliyalam,Thayannur, Adukkam, chathamath, Pothavoor, Kayyur, and Cheemeni have close relationship with Kinavoor Molom Gramadevatha Temple, since along years back itself.

The agricultural village is strongly adhered with it's traditional values and rituals. Hindu oriented village have big paddy land and strong cultural backgrounds. Village peoples were sweet hearted to share their mythological history to visitors of the land.
