The Well Pub
[edit]The Well Pub is a Student Union Pub located at the University of British Columbia Okanagan located in Kelowna, British Columbia. It is located on the first floor in the University Centre (UNC) Building right beside the F parking lot.
About
[edit]This is a student union run pub which is open Monday to Friday from 11:00 am until 10:00 pm. They host bunch of events throughout the year, every week including events hosted by several clubs that are a part of the Student Union at UBCO (SUO). They post about the upcoming events on their instagram handle and the SUO website. They don't expect reservations and serve great cocktails, and has bar games. The Well Student pub is a business/service operated by the UBC Students' Union Okanagan. They try to serve the cheapest food on campus in a timely manner while having a large menu for an on campus student pub. They have many varieties of Poutines, burgers and the best pizzas. The bar has 2 pool tables, 4 tv's and a large projector screen, there's always something to enjoy at an on campus pub.
Events
[edit]To expand on some of the events held at the Well. Every month the pub hosts trivia nights that range from many different themes. There are movie and tv show trivia nights like Harry Potter and Friends as well as trivia for artists like Taylor swift. UBC Okanagan has a variety of different clubs and the Well makes a great location for hosting any events they may be putting on. For those who are artistic or like to have some fun painting, this pub often puts on booz and brushes nights where anyone can socialize and do a bit of painting. Some have themes as well often for celebrations such as halloween. Especially popular events among first year students are the Send Szn parties that take place throughout the year as they are a good way to meet people, have some fun and do some dancing. They allow 18 year old UBCO students in whereas most other events are 19+ so as a first year it gives you the chance to go to a substance free party. Other events include listening parties for albums like 1989 by Taylor Swift, watch parties for sporting events and hosting guests like comedians and hypnotists.
