                                  Global Citizenship

Global Citizenship can be imprinted all the way to ancient Greece, its concept was coined cosmopolitan meaning citizen of the world. ( Schattle). Global citizenship is important for education because it educates individuals on how to see their interconnectedness with others of humanity. GC gives a good understanding of the many differences such as cult, backgrounds, ethnicity, etc.. while building a citizen to be active, responsible, supportive, and responsive to the needs of their fellow worldly citizens and the world we all live in. GC helps to change and direct the mindset through educating individuals on how to be caring, nurturing, and productive citizens. What better way can a learner understand the world around them and be motivated to find positive solutions to fix the challenges that not only affect them but everyone, no matter where they live except through education. Seeing outside the boundaries of where you reside and identify with the ideal that we all belong in the world we live and with that belonging, we all have human rights, privileges, and responsibilities as global citizens to understand how the world works, value differences in people and work with others to better the quality of life for all humans.
