Homeliae in Ezechiel is a biblical commentary written by Gregory the Great on Ezekiel. It is thought to be from the later seventh century. It was written either at the Library of Corbie or the monastery of Luxeuil.

Purpose[edit]
The homilies of Ezekiel were written in the wake of one of the Lombard invasions and delivered as moral guidance to the Romans. They served to interpret the Gospels and inspire virtuous living through the addition of anecdotes and examples of enactment. Several of the homilies are imbued with a sense "that the end of all things was at hand."[1]
