Koiwi (/ˈkɔɪwi/), also known as Kiwi, is a deity in mythology. Koiwi is considered to be the god of kiwis, death, and general goblin behavior.

Name and Origin[edit]

Koiwi's name and origin continue to be a mystery. Others have cited koiwi's name in NZ, starting in the late 19th century Maori, as meaning skeletal remains.

Mythology[edit]

In ancient mythology, Koiwi was the god of all kiwis. Whether this was the fruit, New Zealanders, or Harry Styles' music video "Kiwi" is up for debate. The god was also known to bring death to all that spent extensive time around them.

In the early 19th century, the Great Kiwi Theft was said to have happened, in which Pedro stole all of Koiwi's creations, the kiwi, and locked them away. Only upon doing deeds seen as worthy by Pedro, would he release one of the hundreds, if not thousands of kiwis locked away. Koiwi continues to this day to attempt to free their brethren from their prison.
