Medicinhistoriska museet is a museum, at the adress Östra Hamngatan 11 in Göteborg within the old city walls, which opened 1986. It is part of the hospital Sahlgrenska Universitetssjukhuset within Västra Götalandsregionen.
The museum has been closed since December 2018 due to renovation of the building.
The first Medical history museum was founded on 14 december 1976, opening to the public jan 1st 1977. At this time the museem had moved from Sahlgrenska hospital in Änggården to the fouth floor, entrance D in Sociala Huset, the third Sahlgrenska hospital building. It was the nurse Ingeborg Kastman (1901-94), who over many years built the collections in one of the attics in Änggården. Ingeborg Kastman hade i mitten på 1930-talet börjat att samla på föremål, som låg bortglömda på vinden vid det gamla barnbördshuset vid Övre Husargatan och som skulle kastas när den nya kvinnokliniken skulle invigas.
