Vadim Vadimov (born march 12, 1952 in Poltava) — architect, doctor of architecture, professor, member of the Ukrainian National Union of Architects, honored architect of Ukraine, State Prize of Ukraine in Architecture laureate, Member of the Ukrainian Academy of Architecture, member of the Ukrainian urbanists Union. Expert appraiser of Ukraine appraisers Union.

Biography[edit]

Born March 12, 1952 in Poltava. In 1974 he graduated from the Architectural Department of the Dnipropetrovsk Institute of Civil Engineering, speciality "Architecture". Started his career in the design department of Nikopol. Design of housing and public buildings, urban design and landscape architecture objects. Worked as deputy chief architect of the city of Nikopol and Poltava. Candidate thesis defence in 1986, speciality – city planning. Head of Department in Poltava Engineering Institute from 1985. In 1994 founded a private company "Creative architectural workshop "Urbanistika" and the Poltava branch of the Kiev Urban Institute, head till 2004. Specialization – scientific designing and consulting. In 1996 design of Ukraine first zoning plan for United States Agency for International Development (USAID) program. Doctor thesis defence in 2003, speciality – architect theory. Since 2005 deputy director of the State Institute of Urban Planning "Miskbudproekt". Since 2006 till 2016, head of the Department of City Planning and Architecture, chief architect of Poltava.
