Center of connection is the brain between mind the atman and universe the brahman. Mind connects to the universe before getting into brain. Mind is the observer and brain is the experiencer. Body is the sufferer. Thought is the result.

it seems that thought as a cause enters from universe to the observer ( atman) acted by brain, body being the sufferer both positively and negatively and finally releases as thought in the form of effect
