Kristian Chanin Crawford (November 12, 1963-Present) is a professional stage actor from Chicago, Illinois. Kristian has performed in over 30 professional theatres since 1988 in Atlanta, Japan, New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. His professional stage career began with Mama, I Want to Sing, the longest touring black off-Broadway show in musical theatre history. He received critical acclaim for several leading roles in professional productions from 1988 thru 1993, including Joseph Jefferson Award for Best Ensemble (1990) for his portrayal of ‘Way-out Morgan in Among All This You Stand Like A Fine Brownstone. He was listed as Best Character Actor in Perform Ink (1991) for his portrayal of Tom Snout in William Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream. He also was 5th place winner of the Theodore Ward National Playwriting Contest at Columbia College (1989) for his one-man play The King of Cats, the script that served as the screenplay source for the film Keep the Faith. Kristian has directed stage plays for theatres in Los Angles and Atlanta. Kristian performed with several different children’s theatre companies including Tri-square Theatre Company, Imagination Theatre Company and Child’s Play Touring Theatre.
