Robert Rains
[edit]Robert Rains is a professional sports writer. He has been writing about the St. Louis and national sports scene for more than 30 years. He covered the Cardinals for the Louis Globe-Democrat in the 1980′s until the paper's collapse.[1] Rains was also the National League beat writer for USA Today's Baseball Weekly.[2] Rains has authored or co-authored 29 books about baseball, sports, and professional athletes. [3] One of which is the former St. Louis Cardinal, Ozzie Smith's autobiography. [4] Rains is the co-author of "The Curse," which he wrote with former St. Louis Cardinal Andy Van Slyke. "The Curse" is a novel that describes a fictional 1945 Cubs, who are killed in a team plane crash, and the remaining players who soldier on to finish the season. [5]
