He has composed the music for many TV movies, series, documentaries and animated films in France and around the world. He has worked on successful films and series such as: UNE AFFAIRE FRANÇAISE, MANON 20 YEARS, GLACE, MALATERRA in France. His score for the international animated film SHEEP AND WOLVES, will be nominated for the BSO spirit in 2016.

Trained as a guitarist, he became known with his ElectroRock band BACKSTAB founded in 1995. He has also composed for the theater and produced variety songs.

Alexandre is represented by MSA (MySoundtrackAgency) and Sevrine Abhervé is his agent.

Biography

Childhood and education

Alexandre Lessertisseur was born on May 29, 1970 in Paris, France.

His father, Guy Lessertisseur, is a French actor, screenwriter and director. His mother, Catherine Arditi, is a French actress.

He grew up in the environment of the 7th art in Paris. At the age of 8, he started playing guitar at the Lili Boulanger conservatory. He continued his musical studies with the electric guitar at the Atla school. Passionate about music, he discovers and practices different styles, from classical to Folk, through Blues, Rock, Funk, but especially Metal.

At that time, he was a fan of Guitar Heroes such as Steve Vai, Joe Satriani or Yngwie Malmsteen. He is passionate about computer music of the first hours and the first samplers, which will lead him to form the group "ElectroRock Backstab" Fusion between Electronic Music and Metal whose inspirations were as well Prodigy or Chemical Brother as Metallica or Korn.

A film buff from an early age, he fell in love with film music when he discovered John Williams' score for Star Wars, but it was Basil Poledouris' score for Conan that made him switch to film music and begin studying orchestral composition and orchestration for films.

In parallel with the group ElectroRock Backstab, he begins to make music for short films for the students of the FEMIS then for plays.

In addition, Blake Neely became his mentor for a while and opened the doors to Hollywood for him. He is followed by William Ross, who offers him an experience as an assistant for his film scores in Los Angeles.

Back in France, he works a lot for the French television, and also composes for the international market with animation films like SHEEP AND WOLVES, or series like Theodosia for HBOmax.

His beginnings and his professional career

Alexandre Lessertisseur started his career with his ElectroRock band BACKSTAB, which won the grand prize of the jury of Zeb Rock in 2001, and the prize of the public and the jury of Chorus des Hauts de Seine in 2002.

Later, Lessertisseur turned to music for film, where he started to create music for short films, especially for students of the FEMIS.

Alexandre Lessertisseur has worked with William Ross in Los Angeles, has co-composed with R. Jericho for Gregory Lemarchal (2004 winner of Star Academy France), Nu Pagadi (2005 winner Pop Star Germany), Marc-André Niquet (2005 finalist of Star Academy Canada), to name a few.

In 2021, he composed the music for the international series THEODOSIA (HBOmax) and the Chinese animation film RETURN produced by ORI Animation.

He has composed the music for several series, including UNE AFFAIRE FRANÇAISE , GLACÉ , MALATERRA , or MANON 20 YEARS for which he won the Best Music Award at the Luchon Festival in 2017. He has done the music for many TV movies like LE JOUR OÙ J'AI BRULÉ MON COEUR, L'HERITAGE or even CRIMES PARFAITS or MEURTRES A .

He is also the composer of numerous documentaries such as FAUT PAS RÊVER, DES RACINES ET DES AILES, DOC DE CHOCS, JACQUES DERAY, DANS L'OMBRE D'HITCHCOCK or SANS AUCUN DOUTES.

Beautiful experiences are also to be highlighted in many short films: JOURS INTRANQUILLES by Latifa Said (Grand Prix at SIRAR).

He also composed many plays such as "Parce que je la vole bien" by Laurent Ruquier or "Une Journée Ordinaire" by Eric Assous with Alain Delon.


Success and Awards

He worked on the French series MANON 20 YEARS (Arte) with Oscar-winning director Jean-Xavier de Lestrade, which won five awards at the 2017 Luchon TV Festival for best music.

Then, he was nominated for the Jerry Goldsmith Award in 2016 for his music for the animated film SHEEP AND WOLVES (Russia, Wizart Animation, official feature selection at the 2016 Annecy Festival).

In addition, with his electro-rock band BACKSTAB, with which he gave concerts throughout France and Europe. The group won the Grand Prix du Jury of the Zeb Rock in 2001, and the Prix du Public and the Jury of the Chorus des Hauts de Seine in 2002.
