Aminath Lamha Latheef (born 7 June 1992) is a Maldivian playback singer, television host and an actress.
History
[edit]She was born in Male’, Maldives, She started her schooling at Galholhu Madharusa, completed her primary studies at Iskandhar school. She moved to Sri Lanka at the age of 12 years and completed her Higher Education at Royal Institute International School in Colombo. She further studied hospitality at Sri Lanka and completed a HND.
Career
[edit]Lamha started singing at the young age of 8 years, She participated in “The inter School Singing Competition” in Maldives. She got 3rd place from her age group that year and continued participating in the competition. After moving to Sri Lanka she took a break from singing. After completing her studies and moving back to Maldives she started singing once again. She performed her first song in “Ehandhaanuga Retro”, and continued sharing her music and giving performances with many talented Maldivian composers at many events, music videos, and on a notable show; “Olympains and Friends” for two consecutive years. In addition, she has been a playback singer for many movies as well such as Leena (film), Hiyy Yaara Dheefa and 40+ and many more. She started exploring her creative side, and she got selected to host Maldives’ first ever franchise reality-TV show Maldivian Idol season 2. This helped her get the attention as a host which opened new doors for her to expand her hosting career, for instance taking part in international events such as World Travel Awards 2017, and national events such as Maldives Film Awards 2019 9th Gaumee Film Awards.
She has performed in numerous Eid shows throughout the years in different islands each year. In addition she has performed in other national events such as Independence Day functions. She has lent her voice to other songs which has been sung for different occasions.
Her acting career started in a theatre play directed by one of Maldives’ famous director, Mohamed Munthasir, the name of the play was ‘Neyngeyne’ she played the lead role. Currently she is the lead actress for the first ever Maldivian Sit-com, Karu Hakuru, which is shooting its 3rd season. Karu Hakuru is aired on the first ever streaming app in Maldives called Baiskoafu. In addition she has started working on her first ever feature movie with Yaaraa Productions. The name of the movie is "Yaaraa" and will be released early next year.
