Born to the fourth wife of Gai Kurwal Chol Kutdioor in 1983,Gai Chol Paul joined Aluk Primary School in 1996 and later moved to Kenya and live in Kakuma Refugee Camp in 2002.He completed his primary school in 2003 at Bhar al Naam refugee school, he was admitted to kakuma Refugee secondary school where he later graduated in 2007 leading the whole camp with the mean grade of 'B' he was admitted to Dr John Garang Memorial University of Science and Technology in 2008.Gai graduated with the BSc.in Mathematics in 2012.In 2010 Gai Chol Paul married to Abiar Ajith Lual from Thony clan of Bor paym,he has his son Kurwal Chol born on 29 April 2012 .
