Farming is important to New York's economy, although not as important as it was in the mid-1800s, when wheat from New York was sold all over the country and in Europe. Milk is the state's leading agricultural product, but beef cattle, hay, corn, and fruit are widely produced too. New York is among the nation's leaders in producing apples — the state's biggest crop — and grapes.

Mining is not a major industry in New York. But New York's land yields many different mineral products, including limestone, salt, sand, and gravel. New York is a leader in natural gas, garnet, lead, and silver.[1]

Although heavily urbanized and industrialized, New York is still an important agricultural area. Until late in the 19th century, New York led the nation in the production of both grain and butter. Today, the state’s major agricultural activities center on the dairy and cattle industry, apple orchards, maple syrup production, onions, beets, potatoes, and viniculture.[2]

About 25% of the state’s land area, or 7.6 million acres are used by the 36,000 farms to produce a very diverse array of food products.

Wine and  juice grape  production places New York 3rd behind Calird fornia and Washington.

The nation’s 2 largest producer, nd cabbage is principally grown south of Lake  Ontario in Monroe, Genesee, Orleans, Ontario and Niagara counties.

New York is the nations 3rd leading producer of dairy products and Wyoming is the State’s leading county.[3]

Multiracial is defined as made up of or relating to people of many races. -From Article

There are many terms that exist for people of different multiracial backgrounds. While some of the terms used in the past are considered insulting and offensive, there are many terms that exists now that are socially acceptable and multiracial people identify with. Some examples include mixed-race, biracial, multiracial, métis, mestizo, pardo, and mixed. Individuals of different multiracial backgrounds make up a significant portion of the population in many parts of the world. In North America studies have found that the multiracial population is continuing to grow. Because of a decline of racial discrimination, people with various ethnic backgrounds no longer feel the need to hide their "mixed-race" heritage. In many countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, multiracial people make up the majority of the population. Other areas where multiracial people make up a considerable amount of the population are the United Kingdom, the Middle East, parts of Africa and Asia, New Zealand, and Fiji.
