In April 2021 I noticed there were quite a number of gaps in coverage of museums in Pacific countries. I've been working on this topic since then, to improve coverage. I'm keeping track of contributions here. I feel pretty strongly that all national museums are notable, and furthermore that the content in their articles should be thorough. However, it's important to remember that for many of these places the available references are written by Western academics, who are producing knowledge within Western intellectual power structures. As an editor, based in the UK, I too am a product of those structures. Outside Wikipedia, I've contacted as many institutions as possible to try and ensure accurate representation.
