Lakshantha Athukorala is a Sri Lankan poet. He has won many literary awards including state awards for poetry creations and poetry translations. Lakshantha has written and published the poetry works Amawake Sandak Simbimi [I Kiss a Moon in a No-moon Day] (2006), Yati Vyana [The Undergrowth] (2007), Hitaggisse Nathak Mottu [Many Blossoms at the Edge of the Mind] (2008), Wasi Isene Isau [Where Rains Spread] (2009), Ee [The Arrows] (2013), Samahara Kamatahan [Some Base Thoughts] (2016), Susumakin Sulisulaga [Cyclone from a Sigh] (2016), Anabises Anabinikman (2019), Liyasav Lihee Giya Ganasamadulu (2021), Hengum Gangehi Hangila (2022) and Chaturasraya Issaraha (2023). As a translator, his literary works are Siragatha Nowu Sithuvili (Sinhala translation of Ho Chi Minh's Prison Diary), Sipum Seerum Kenittum (Sinhala translation of Kamala Das's poetry), Suprakata Charitha Gena Apprakata Katha (Sinhala translation of Dale Carnagie's Little-Known Facts about Wel-Known People), Twenty Love Poems and A Song of Despair (Sinhala translation of Pablo Neruda's Twenty Love Poems and A Song of Despair), Wessak Asanneku Se Ma Asanna (Sinhala Translation of Octavio Paz's Poems), Gahanu Hadak Gahena Handak (Sinhala translations of Maya Angelou's poetry). Apart from that, Lakshantha Athukorala, who is also a columnist, wrote a series of columns called 'Samawehi Rekhawa' for the 'Anidda' newspaper for several years.

Lakshantha Athukorala, who is also an Attorney-at-Law in the Supreme Court, graduated with honours in law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Colombo in 2003. A former officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service.
