ABOUT

[edit]

He has only been two schools in his life, he went to a private nursery school known as Monte Sori and moved on to another school which is quiet known in Mufulira as Trust School, but its original name is MCM Mufulira School. He was at the school for thirteen years, from Reception to Grade 12.

EARLY LIFE

[edit]

He was raised in Mufulira by a humble family and he grew up as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. And he became one at the tender age of 11 when he was in his sixth grade. He grew knowing only two languages Bemba and English. This did not really go well for as his relatives always greeted him in Luvale or Lunda. His dad Mr. Mukuma Chombu was born on the 29th of September in the year 1970. His mum was born two year later. The two got married in April 1995 and Lamech was born the following year. His parents at that were raising his cousin, Fwelu, who was enrolled in school as having the surname Mukuma, hence, Lamech Mukuma refers to him as his older brother and not a cousin. In the year 1997, Sheila and Alex, Lamech’s parents, had a daughter who later passed away the same year after enjoying life for a period of eight months, her name Abigail Mukuma.

Her death moved Lamech to want to become a doctor. She had died of the worst and dangerous disease at that time, Pneumonia. As the young man he grew he came to know most of his family and he say, “Most my dad’s half-brothers were in the military or politics”. And most of them in the military. But there was one man he visited in the 2007, this man is his uncle Judge Ford Chombu. Lamech envied his uncle such that he a decision to make either to go with medicine and help cure the sick or fight for the poor as a Lawyer.

He has over ten uncles on his father’s side and same numbers though varied might be apparent for the aunties he has on his father’s side. But on his mother’s immediate family he two uncles and three aunties. His mother’s mother is still alive and hopefully she will remain for the years to come. His grand mother, Naomi Mutanya taught the boy how to bake bread at a very tender age, the age of nine, and he grew to love the kitchen. He remembers on special person in his life, Mubanga Mulenga, say, “ Your wife will be lucky to have you as a husband”.

He was sceptical to tell us about his love life but he said whoever would like to know would email him and ask him, lmukuma127@gmail.com or lkazaanda@yahoo.com.
