Lanre Lawal is a Nigerian Talent Manager, A&R Professional and Music Business professional.
Early Life
[edit]Lanre Ismail Lawal was born on October 10 1983, the son of an hotel manager father and a petty trader mother. Lanre grew up in the neighborhood of Agege. He attended District Primary School, Agege, and further went to Onipetesi High School, Agege. In 2000, Lanre went to Lagos City Computer Polytechnic where he bagged a Diploma in Computer Science. He further shuttled between Lagos State University and Nigeria Institute of Journalism where he got studied Mass Communication and Journalism respectively.
Lanre's earliest romance with Entertainment started during his high school days at Onipetesi High School, Agege where he doubled as the school's Social Prefect and everyone's favorite event planner/MC.
The Don Brothers
[edit]In 2001, Lanre (with 2 other friends) started an event management squad named The Don Brothers at Lagos City Computer Polytechnic while studying for Diploma in Computer Science. The squad organized many events and picnics some of which include the school’s end of the year party in 2002.
Blarque Entertainment
[edit]Lanre Lawal started the dream in 2002! Blarque Entertainment started from the underground in Agege where he grew. He managed some underground artistes and he won the award for Best Artiste Manager in Agege the same year (2002)
Now Muzik
[edit]In quest for practical and advanced knowledge of the business-side of artiste management, Lanre Lawal joined Nigeria’s first and biggest artiste management company, Now Muzik in 2004. Elevating from a road-runner to Head of Artiste Management Department at Now Muzik, Lanre Lawal contributed vastly and gave undivided attention towards the development of the company, also had the opportunity to contribute to providing business management and/or label support services for some of the biggest names and brightest new talents like Sunny Neji, 2face Idibia, Ruggedman, Eedris Abdulkareem, Mr. Kool, African China, Niyola, Shotz, Muma Gee, Illbliss amongst others.
"Blarque Brotha Entertainment" (2007)
[edit]Lanre Lawal left Now Muzik in November 2007 to establish his own outfit named Blarque Brotha Entertainment a complete entertainment solution outfit with primary obligation of providing Label/Management Support, Media/P.R. consultancy for artistes and the corporate industry. Lanre Lawal, a confident and innovative entrepreneur whose strongest assets are his belief that the terrain can be significantly improved and his pragmatic moves towards that goal. He managed and consulted for some of the brightest stars in the Nigeria music industry. The likes of Banky W, Plus One, Jahbless, GT The Guitarman amongst other.
"The Bail Music Company" (2013)
[edit]In 2013, Lanre has become a phenomenon in the music business. He mentors young music managers, musicians and entertainers. He floated The Bail Music Company a full-fledged Artiste Development and Artiste Management company. He manages the career of one of Nigeria's greatest vocalist, Brymo.
