Tor Blockade[edit]

Wikipedia does not seem to like users exercising their right to privacy, by using Tor.

I have identified several flaws in the justification for the current sweeping blockade:

  • The expectation and requirement that legitimate editors request that their account be added to an exception list, instead of the more reasonable policy of only blocking anonymous editing, while leaving all registered user‐accounts free to edit (and subject to any regular, non‐discriminatory blocking actions)
  • Assuming that open‐proxies are a greater source of vandalism than that of WAN IP address of schools
  • Failing to distinguish between anonymous edits, and registered, confirmed user accounts (which have contributed positively), in blocking policy

Until such basic administration matters are resolved, Iʼm prevented from editing Wikipedia. Seems that Iʼll be contributing to Citizendium, instead.
