Tashi delek! I'm a professor of Theology and Religious Studies at the University of San Diego, specializing in Buddhist Studies. I completed Master's degrees in Asian Studies and Religion (Asian) and a doctorate in comparative philosophy at the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa. My research interests are women in Buddhism, death and dying, Buddhist philosophy, religion and politics, Buddhism and bioethics, comparative religious ethics, Buddhist feminist philosophy, Buddhist transnationalism, and similar topics. In 1987, I was a founder of Sakyadhita International Association of Buddhist Women and also founded Jamyang Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting education for girls and women in developing countries. I'm involved in the 1000 Women in Religion project on Wikipedia.
