Veterans Memorial Park Auburn, New York
[edit]Veterans Memorial Park is a park in Auburn, New York to honor all veterans form Cayuga County that have served from any wheres from the Revolutionary war to the current deployments.[1]
The committee to organized the plans and raise the money to build the park was made up of seven ceterans for the korean war.[2]
Ground broke on November 11, 2007 for the park. On April 3,2008 the Steel arch with Veterans Memorial Park that was designed by Auburn High School students was put in at the entrance of the park.Throughout the park there are pavers engraved with soldiers names along with memorial benches.[3]
The Walk way that leads to the center of the park are made of paving stones. Some of the paving stones are engraved with the names of some of the soldiers being honored. At the center of the park is a platform that is used to honor the soldiers of the past and will be used to honor those in the future also.[4]
