The MV Honorable James Oberstar is a self-unloading lake freighter owned and operated by the Interlake Steamship Company. The Oberstar was constructed as Shenango II for the Shenango Furnace Company of Pittsburgh. It was announced in 1957, and delivered in 1959 for US$8 million. The Shenango II was launched on November 22, 1958 and was christened on May 14 of 1959. It entered service on May 16.
