David Ziegler or David August Garcia Ziegler(born August 01, 1990 - April 13, 2008) was a former Ateneo Blue Eagles player. He was recruited as soon as he enrolled in the prestigious school. Having an excellent background in basketball, coach Norman Black was eager to have him on the team. Ateneo Blue Eagles captain, Chris Tiu said that Zeigler was a very good 3 point shooter. His former professors and instructors also testified that he gets along with everyone and said to be very friendly. August Zeigler renounced Ateneo Blue Eagles just after joining the team for 7 months. Kirk Long, another foreign student of Ateneo de Manila University was then recruited to replace the spot of Zeigler. The whole School of Business department was shocked when they heard the news that August Zeigler passed away April 13, 2008 at the time of 6:37pm. It was a tragic loss for the team and the whole school.
