Liliana Kneuer (born August 3, 1973) is a private chef, culinary instructor and entrepreneur in Rochester, New York. She is the founder and owner of the L’atelier de la Chef culinary school. She earned her Attestiation de Formation from the Ecole de Cuisine, Institut Paul Bocuse in Lyon, France in 2017.


Early Life

Liliana was born Luminita Liliana Pau in Resita, Romania. She is the daughter of Ion and Ioana Pau. Liliana grew up under communist rule until she moved to the United States in April 1989. She spent her formative years in Jacksonville, Florida. She credits her early culinary influence to her maternal grandmother who raised her in the Romanian countryside.


Career

Liliana opened L’atelier de la Chef culinary school in 2018 a year after completing her studies at Institut Paul Bocuse in Lyon, France. She also trained at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, as well as under Patricia Wells for black truffles in Provence, France. Prior to this, Liliana was a private chef in Los Angeles, California and a culinary instructor at Nazareth College in Pittsford, New York.


Personal Life

On February 14, 2008, Liliana married Michael Kneuer, a businessman. The couple rescued their rat terrier, Vino, in March of 2013. Liliana is a talented golfer and enjoys exploring new cuisines around the world.
