I am Lisa Porter, CEO and owner of Pet Hotels of America®, a travel website for pet owners with its office in Rancho Santa Margarita. The administrative office telephone number is (877) 375-1946 and reservation center is 866-676-7087 Code HBC3456. Pet Hotels of America® is designed to make traveling easy for pet owners, when pets travel with them as well as when they don't. The website was built upon the premise that there is an increasing demand by pet travelers to find what they need at their travel destinations and when making travel plans. For years, it was difficult for people to know where to stay and places to go when traveling with pets. It also was difficult to locate pet boarding and pet sitters from one place if planning to leave pets at home. Pet Hotels of America allows people with pets to find everything they need in all U.S. cities including:

  • Pet friendly hotels
  • Pet friendly vacation homes
  • Pet friendly cabins and cottages

Pet Hotels of America® Makes Travel Easy for Pet Owners[edit]

Pet owners traditionally had to search through numerous online sources, books and magazines to find pet friendly places to stay, play and eat. It stands to reason that Americans who, according to Bloomberg, spend $41 billion a year on their pets, would want an easier approach to travel planning when bringing along their furry family member. This led to the establishment of Pet Hotels of America.

As babyboomers began refilling their empty nests with pets, the demand for pet travel information and pet friendly lodging increased. Hotels were the first to jump on the bandwagon. Pet friendly hotels began dotting the maps. Today, approximately five percent of the hotels are pet friendly. However, when Pet Hotels of America® first launched in October 2010 as a place where travelers could reserve pet friendly hotels, its founder, Lisa Porter, realized that pet owners have the same needs as people traveling. In addition to simply requiring a place to stay, they also needed to know where to eat, exercise and play. Pet Hotels of America® began building lists of pet friendly parks, beaches, hiking trails, restaurants, activities, attractions, wineries, events and everything else anyone could want when traveling with pets. For people that needed to leave their pets at home, kennels, doggie daycares, pet sitters were added so all travel plans could be made from one place.

In 2011, in the midst of the recession that wrecked havoc upon America's travel industry, vacation homes, bed and breakfasts, and cabins and cottages, which never before considered inviting pets into their homes, began to realize that allowing pets was a way to increase business. The call for pet friendly lodging of all types grew and today these alternative lodging options have increased significantly, giving pet travelers a much broader choice. The recession also spurred restaurants, bars, coffee houses and wineries to vie for travelers. Listings for these establishments were added to Pet Hotels of America®. Pet Hotels of America® also launched Pet News Radio® as a means for people to learn about new pet products, services and information by experts in the pet and travel industries.

By 2013, Pet Hotels of America® had become a major resource for people with pets, whether traveling with their animals or not. It has thousand of listings with descriptions, addresses, contact information and maps, which make it simple to find all that is needed for pet owners. It is recognized by media as well as pet and travel organizations alike for providing expert information about pet travel. This year it announced its first "Top Picks of Seven Pet Friendly Luxury Hotels in the U.S., which was published in Yahoo News! It also is a reliable resource for media that are searching for information on America's pet friendly beaches, restaurants and other places travelers with pets may visit. The Los Angeles Times referred to the website as a travel calendar for pet owners and then again wrote about Pet Hotels of America's Top Pet Friendly Hotel Chain Picks. KABC-TV's Ric Romero covered how Pet Hotels of America® is a comprehensive resource for pet travelers in 2012. It has been written about in many other online and print publications as well including Technoratti, Huffington Post, Orange County Register and Washington Post.
