We are a plural system of otherkin. Of us, you may see:
- Logan (he/him nonbinary), who is the original inhabitant of the body. He is the "Logan" of "LoganDark". Not all systems have an "original" part, but ours does. Differing opinions exist on "core"/"original" terminology, including whether "original" refers to parts before splitting or parts preserved after splitting, but it is our belief that Logan is the only "original" part of our system, where "original" refers to "before discovery".
- Emily (she/her), who is me; I'm writing this page. I generally exist in situations where system representation or accountability is required, since I was one of the first to properly recognize us. I also exist as my own person, of course.
- "Cuteness" (she/her), who you probably won't ever see, but who will make herself incredibly apparent through her seeming inability to end a sentence in anything other than an exclamation mark. (She... shouldn't ever be editing? Hopefully? but may leave comments, I guess.)
- Vicuna (it/its), who is more recent; it seems just to exist sometimes, independent of the particular situation.
We have many others, who most likely won't ever post or edit here. ("Cuteness" is only included because she has the hardest memory barriers out of any of us, and therefore might interact here by chance.)
None of us identify with the real-life body, so we'd generally prefer for the body not to be included wherever possible. This means no bodily age, no bodily sex, and most certainly no photos. I cannot stress enough how incredibly important it is for us not to have a real-life photo associated with our identity. The body exists, but please, it is to be none of anyone's concern. We have individual forms that represent our multiple selves and we would prefer for that multiplicity to be respected instead. We will never consent to bodily information being made public for any reason; ideally such information won't exist even in private either.
We do not identify as human or with humanity. We are feral animals. Our animal forms are as real to us as your real life is to you. We still refer to ourselves as "people", but we do not use a definition of "person" that includes any element of humanity. Please do not use "human" or any human-related terms to refer to us or the body. We know exactly what the body is, and we explicitly remove ourselves from it; because the body is still something that we all share, we would still strongly prefer if no human-related terminology were ever to be used for it.
As such, we also do not identify with the term "therian". "Otherkin" is a far more appropriate term for the particular type of detached that we are from the body; there are no implications on the species of the body like there are for "therian". It is so incredibly implied already merely by existing as sapient beings that we do not need nor ever want it further spelled out for us. I mean hell, even the word 'sapient' is in itself a relation to humanity.
How's a creature to atone for its only way of defining its own sapience being comparison to humanity? I mean, it's impossible to define anything's "sapience" without comparison to humanity, since that is literally what "sapience" is, but you get my point.
This all may seem extremely silly, and to an extent it is, but it is also genuine. Please respect our nonhuman (and multiple) identities.
