The five pillars of F.A.I.T.H. leadership, an acronym for Fear, Attitude, Inspire, Trust, and Humble, serve as the foundation of the course. These pillars guide leaders to strengthen their own skills and effectively utilize their subordinates' strengths.

Introduction[edit]
This proposal outlines the disciplinary grounding for the course "The Five Pillars of F.A.I.T.H. Leadership," developed during COML 518 Online Course Design and Teaching at Gonzaga University. The course centers on leadership experiences from Troy Palmer's military career and integrates core concepts of communication and leadership studies.
Ignatian Pedagogy Integration[edit]
The course utilizes the Ignatian pedagogy principles of Context, Experience, Reflection, Action, and Evaluation. This approach allows students to engage in critical reflection and interact with both the instructor and fellow students, fostering a communication network and professional connections within their profession.
Leadership Styles and Personality Assessment[edit]
Students engage with the course by discussing and reflecting upon the eight leadership styles introduced in the course material. To deepen their understanding, students also take the "Truity" online personality test to connect personality types with leadership styles.
