I am the son of the Isidoro Calvete mentioned in the article on Permanent Waving. I have no practical experience of hairdressing at all, but I lived through the period of the 20s and 30s in the environment described in my book. I also inherited a considerable amount of literature, catalogues and photographs from my Father, and I was struck by how little was known of this seminal period of history in women's hairdressing. I am struck also by the fact that there seems to be no museum that houses material from the past, probably because little remains, but it seems to me possible to create a virtual museum in which pictures of past systems of hairdressing could be shown, something which seems sadly neglected. In addition my family were associated with Nestor Cambier and for this reason carried out research which was used in the article.
