From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Societas Italica Rosae + Crucis, also known by the acronym S.I.R + C, is an Italian and world Rosicrucian society.[1][2][3]

The purpose of the Societas is to study and deepen all the subjects related to the tradition of the European philosophical movement called Rosacrocianism, and of all hermetic-alchemical-cabalistic disciplines proper to the Western esoteric culture; including the deepening of this current of thought called Martinism, as well as all the symbolic and ritual influences coming from Ancient Egypt and fused after the Napoleonic campaign of 1799 in European cultural circles.

History

[edit]

The Societas Itálica Rosae Crucis was born on March 21, 2017, [4] in the Lower Piedmont, inspired by the original Rosicrucian impulse, which in occult form began to work in the thirteenth century and subsequently emerged in an exoteric form with the Rosicrucian Manifestoes, which are the Fama Fraternitatis Rosae Crucis (1614), Confessio Fraternitatis (1615) and the chemical marriage of Christian Rosenkreuz (1616). Initially composed of some members of other initiatory realities, including Freemasonry and Martinism, he later found great interest from many initiates and esotericists who spread within two years to different parts of Italy and the world.
