From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lucas Dul is an American citizen and is currently pursuing academics. While he doesn’t have a formal occupation, he does repair manual typewriters and has become quite knowledgeable on the topic. His lesser hobbies include art, card throwing (of which he is able to throw a standard playing card over 100 feet) and being lazy.

Lucas was born in South Korea and was raised by an adoptive American family. While by his description, he claims to be rather “untalented,” his friends argue otherwise. He enjoys playing the guitar, though with 10 years of experience he is still not quite ready for winning an axe battle. Lucas has also written several books, all of which remain unpublished, and the majority of them have been destroyed or lost. He is an avid photographer, artist, and writer; and has dabbled in many mediums and genres, preferring to be a jack of all trades than a master of any particular subject.

For several years, Lucas has been immersed in the typewriter community, collecting and restoring the old machines. He has offered much advise on the preservation and repair of the machines, and runs the blog IN MECHANICA ANTIQUA.

He also wrote this article which excuses him from the need to use citations because this can be counted as a “primary source.” When he figures out how to use hyperlinks, he will include a definition for “primary source” and a link to his blog. For now, the link below should suffice.

And no, Lucas has not died yet. Apologies to those who are disappointed by this information.
