BOZ

Jeffrey P. (Boz) Bosworth is an Orlando, Florida based American singer, songwriter and recording artist.

Karma Knows, his 2007 debut album, was released independently on Island Estuary Music Publishing and features the single “Home With You,” which is currently being played on over 50 Adult Contemporary radio stations nationwide and in Canada without the benefit of formal promotion.

Boz brings a diverse musical background to his launch as a solo artist. He was the frontman for the progressive rock group Us, whose 2004 album Oblivion was released on Ravensbourne Records/Labels Enabled and continues to sell in large volumes in the U.K. and throughout Europe. Formerly known as The Chosen Few, the band—which featured a 16 piece touring ensemble, including female vocalists and a full horn section--toured throughout the Southeast from 1997-2005, playing festivals, upscale clubs and major corporate events for companies like Anheuser Busch, IBM and GM.

Along the way, performing a mix of covers and originals, The Chosen Few/Us opened for Sting, Dave Bickler of Survivor (who Boz also drummed with) and iconic rock acts The Fixx, Cheap Trick and Hootie & The Blowfish.

“I thank God for that time of my life,” says Boz. “We had great musicians, made great music and were always playing, sometimes 3-4 times per week! We made a lot of people happy with our music. My shift towards a solo career was all about taking that energy to a higher level. I call the original music I do now, the songs on Karma Knows, ‘human.’ I try and write songs that can move people in some way or another, from a human aspect. I tend to focus in on one subject and do my best to learn as much as I can about it, in order to write more passionately. My hope is to connect with the listener and have this music inspire them in some way.”

His musical influences and mentors include Peter Gabriel, Bruce Hornsby, Sting, Phil Collins, Mick Hucknall (from Simply Red), Mike Rutherford (from Genesis), Don Henley, Seal, Paul Carrack and Steely Dan.
