My Background[edit]
My name is Lyle Shaw and I am aspiring Music Therapist, drummer, and filmmaker. My primary focus is to finish my degree in Music Therapy at Berklee College of Music to become a practicing Music Therapist. My secondary focus is to improve my musicianship and technical skills as a drummer while playing in my band, DC Wonder. My outlook on music incorporates a simple attitude towards all fields of music. It simply states that, regardless of what field of music you are in, you fully engage yourself in the music, and stay motivated to continue to do the work that you chose to do based on your own definition of music. I find this definition to be invaluable to all fields of art or work.
My Music[edit]
Although I am a Music Therapy major and excited to practice this work as an MT-BC (Music Therapist - Board Certified), I currently play drum set in a band called DC Wonder, which is where most of my musical energy is placed. The musical elements incorporate electronic dance beats with funky guitar and bass riffs. This style of music has always intrigued and inspired me. The music has influences that range from Earth, Wind & Fire, Daft Punk, and Bad Rabbits. My experiences in this band has contributed to my definition of music and has been invaluable for the development of my own world of music.
