Retrieved from Sarrara Abbasi The page last modified on 23 april 2010.
The Sarrara Abbasi are a tribe found in Tehsil / Districked Abbottabad in Hazara Division of ( N.W.F.P ), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa of Pakistan. The word (SAHU) in classification means forgotten, though alive and present but the where about is not known. (No more applicable).
HISTORY AND ORIGIN,
SARRARA KHAN (Sultan Sakhi Sarwar) is the ancestor of SARRARA ABBASI. Who was The son of Akbar Gai Khan, who was the son of Zarab Khan, who lived in Darab Kot Kahuta, and are not a part of Dhund Abbasi or Tanoli tribe, other then having a common ancestor Akbar Gai Khan. The decendents living in Pattan Kalan, Pattan Khurd and Kokmang are known as Sarrara Abbasi. Intermarry on equal terms with Dhund Abbasi.
It's history and origin is very clear and understandable already writen in paragraph 2 and 3 of Wikipedia (GOOGLE) of the modified page dated 23 april 2010. Providing sufficient proof in all respects of the tribes and need no change at all. The past is a part of history.
Further to this in search of new place, Sarrara Khan left Kahuta and lived for many years at some place in Potohar Plateau and became the head of a big clan. To settle them he required more piece of land. For some reason or the other he could not get his requirements from the original occupants of the area. He had no choice but to search a piece of land of his own outside Potohar Plateau. When how and with whom, he started his journey is not known, but he traveled towards north and entered in Hazara, and some how reached the area ( now known as Abbottabad ) on the west side of the mountain range called Thandyani. It was very good area to live. He looked around and found that although the population was scattered but the town and even for behind the area was in the possition of the original occupants.
While staying there he came to know that almost up to half of the Thandyani mountain range on this side is occupied, and the people are also living there. Encouraged he decided to see what looks like on the other side of the mountain range, walking more than 15 miles to the top and down the other side of the mountain through a thick jungle, he reached to a place called Chamyali, and made a stop there. It is on the side of Thandyani and a part of Pattan. Just below is the water stream called Salol, separating it from the main part of Pattan. He searched to his left, right and in front across the water stream, the whole area of Pattan up to river "KUNHAR" , "JHELUM" and "KOKMANG".It came to his knowledge that the half of the area is hilly, snowy and very cold and the upper most part of the Pattan remains covered with snow for more than 4 months in a year. It has no excess to market from any side. Very difficult to live. Most probably it was the main reason that the neighboring originally settled tribes disliked the area, hasitated, and left the area unoccupied and it was almost empty. Now he had a choice either to occupy the area without any challenge from any side and face the difficulties, or go back and continue the search. Knowing very well that it was almost impossible for him to get an area as large as this. He made a sensible choice to stay and occupy the area as a permanent place to live for his decendents.
The area and the people living in remained neglected and ignored for centuries, even during the British time. There wasn't a single government primary school in the whole area up to 1935/36. Pattan was divided as Pattan Kalan and Pattan Khurd just for administrative and land distribution purposes. After independence of Pakistan in 1947 the local body system was introduced, Gradually schools were opened, primary and middle and high schools in different localities. The younger generation is well educated about 80% or may be more. No difference b/w boys and girls. People have moved to all the big cities of Pakistan even abroad, and are no less than others. The climate has changed, the electricity and the water system has been provided in most of the areas of the Pattan Kalan and Pattan Khurd. But most important, a twelve feet wide road about 100 km is passing through the area, connecting Abbottabad with Muzafrabad, Azad Kashmir by a bridge over river Jhelum at Pul-Heer. People have started their own business and daily necessities if life is availabla. the area is very beautiful and needs development. When developed can be no less than Murree Hills near Islamabad (Pakistan).
DISTRIBUTION, . SARRARA KHAN: the ancestor went ahead and distributed the area of Pattan as a whole b/w his sons as follows:
BEHLUM KHAN: The forefather of BEHLUMAL, Chamyali, Drer and Batangi went to him, and his decendents are in majority there, and are also in majority in Chak Pattan, Bagla, Khuhi, Bunna Khaiter, Salol, Aziz Gran, Barwala, Sunda Jabri area, and are also living in Tarhora and Pattan Khurd.
TATAR KHAN: Is the forefather of TATRAL. The area of Sialkot and Bandi went to him, and the decendents are in majority there. And his decendents are also settled in Chak Pattan, Bagla, Khuhi and Jabri area and are in majority in Masina and down to the Gairy area.
DUMAT KHAN: Is the forefather of DUMAL, and his decenents are found in chak Pattan, Utla Khaiter, area of Jabban, Jabri , Barwala, Dhaki and are scattered in other part of pattan.
LASHKARI KHAN: The forefather of LASHKARYAL whose decendents are in majority in Kotlian Gehar and Duwata area. The area of Kutlian is very high and very difficult, and from there the main part of Pattan extends downwards as a slope up to river KUNHAR and JHELUM. And he left it to his sons to occupy. Therefore the population is mixed.
KUKMONG: AS a whole went to his another son extending down to River KUNHAR. And Pattan Khurd is also attached with it. And I leave it for them to complete the details of the old history.
