About me
I'm a process enthusiast.
I've lived in London, Denmark, Istanbul, New York, Massachusetts, and now I live in the East Bay in Berkeley, California, USA. Prior to that, I traveled for nearly all of my childhood. Having had the great privilege of learning from not one but many mentors, I was exposed to Kaizen while working at DoSomething.org in New York. I've been coaching teams to improve since.
There is no cause I believe in more than transparency of information, and it's great to be a part of the Wikimedia Movement.
My work
I manage a group that works with a broad spectrum of teams within the Product and Technology department, helping them to be more efficient, healthier, and communicate better along the way. I believe whole-heartedly in WMF’s mission to create a more transparent, open-source information network, so I try to help create a space in which it feels safe to ask good questions and challenge assumptions. My favorite thing in the world is a tight feedback loop. :)
Most WMF engineering teams practice some form Agile software development, and Agile inherently drives for collectively building something bigger than ourselves. For that reason, I think it is a particularly fitting framework for supporting the WMF, an organization committed to some of the world's most significant open collaborations. Team health is critical to team success, and the Foundation's success, and I support that health through good practices in transparency, clarity, and trust.
