COVID19 Pandemic[edit]

In March 2020 the Pandemic known as COVID19 broke out across the world. The CDC used many different forms of mass health communication to inform people of the state of the virus. There were broadcasts on the news, social media posts, emergency alerts sent through phone providers, and constant updates on the CDC website. Through this communication, everyone had access to information about the virus. They were able to receive updates in real time, and by having so many different ways to receive updates, there was always a way to be connected.

Cardiovascular disease[edit]

Three-community study and the five-city project were experimental campaigns to inform middle-aged men about the causes of cardiovascular disease. Health messages were communicated via television, radio, newspaper, cookbooks, booklets, and bus cards. The three "communities'' comprised three experimental communication strategies: a media-only campaign, a media campaign supplemented with face-to-face communication, and a no-intervention control group. The experiment revealed that after one year, the most informed at-risk men were those in the second experimental group: they consumed the media campaign and were attended by a healthcare provider
