The Pentagon Theory of Five Sides[edit]

Overview[edit]

The pentagon theory of five sides (PT5) is a management theory that links between employees recognition and management direction. The theory consists of the following five principles:

The PT5 model
  • Reward
  • Recognition
  • Reliability
  • Openness
  • Direction

Unlike other management models, the PT5 tries to understand business progression from the workers point of view then marry that with the business strategy.

History[edit]

The theory was developed early in 2016 when a group of management scholars concluded that where team members are under appreciated as well as receive poor communications and directions from the top management it leads to frustration among employees and other business consequences. Chris Altree and Nick Lucas were among other scholars who contributed to develop the PT5 management model.
