Article Evaluation: "Sexual dimorphism in non-human primates"

The following guiding questions are from the Wiki Education Exercise: Evaluating Wikipedia

  • Is everything in the article relevant to the article topic? Is there anything that distracted you?
    • yes! there are clear sections giving support for each of the listed dimorphism, including the hypothesized mechanisms driving the sexual dimorphism.
  • Is any information out of date? Is anything missing that could be added?
    • The most recent paper cited is from 2012. Behavioral ecologists have more thoroughly investigated this in the past 6 years, so these new studies should be included, especially in the "Ultimate Mechanisms" section.
  • Is the article neutral? Are there any claims that appear heavily biased toward a particular position?
    • Yes. It is based on scientific observations.
  • Are there viewpoints that are overrepresented, or underrepresented?
    • No, it tends to use a variety of sources to state observations and hypotheses.
  • Check a few citations. Do the links work? Does the source support the claims in the article?
    • Yes!
  • Is each fact referenced with an appropriate, reliable reference? Where does the information come from? Are these neutral sources? If biased, is that bias noted?
    • the section "Terrestriality" needs more sources, especially for the first sentence.
    • the leading statements for the "Ultimate Mechanisms" section need citations
    • the information is mostly from cited scientific studies (neutral sources)
  • What kinds of conversations, if any, are going on behind the scenes about how to represent this topic?
    • the conversations are just about the citations and updating the sources from which the information is drawn
  • How is the article rated? Is it a part of any WikiProjects?
    • It is not yet rated
    • It is a part of the WikiProject Primates and WikiProject Animal anatomy.
