COMMITMENT AND DEDICATION
VW Benito K. Tan, an active Master Mason of Labong Lodge No. 59. He is a devoted member of the board of trustees who have helped the crippled children wholeheartedly. He was serving MCCCI for more than 25 years (since 1995). He was the Corporate Secretary of MCCCI since 2012. Under his office, the Masonic Children Ward at the Philippine General Hospital was constructed and housed hundreds of crippled children every year. He was a visionary; he was thinking about the future of the Masonic Charities and its future beneficiaries. He wants to give a fulfilling life to crippled children, especially to those who belong to marginalized sectors of the society. He is a hardworking trustee who gave his time and effort without asking anything in return. He fulfilled the objectives of the organization in a diligent and lawful manner.
VW Lucas T. Ty, MCCCI Assistant Corporate Secretary, member of Mt. Lebanon Lodge No. 1. He was the wise man among all the trustees. His analytical skills helped the board to configure the best thing to do without violating any policies and guidelines. He is described as a “walking constitution” as he knew everything about what is written in the MCCCI and Freemasonry constitution. He gave guidance to do an orderly act that helps the organizational committees achieve its tasks and duties. VW Ty has served the MCCCI together with MW Beltran since 1989.
The Medical Director, Dr. Manuel Michael Z. Rivera, an Orthopedic surgeon who served the MCCCI since he was a resident. His father was Dr. Manuel Rivera who was also an Orthopedic surgeon of Mary Johnston Hospital. He followed the footsteps of his father by continuing his service to crippled children under MCCCI. His father served MCCCI for 40 years in the 1960’s. Dr. Michael was the humblest person I’ve ever met. He operated patients with orthopedic diagnosis without compensation. He is the center of our Medical and charity works, he guides the board to give the best service to its beneficiaries. He has a big heart for crippled children who belong to marginalized sectors.
The committees for Medical, Social Service, and Finance were highly active. They conduct meetings twice a week without even compensation (a piece of bread and a bottle of water are their witnesses). They ensure that services to the beneficiaries are quickly responded to.
In the financial aspect, bookkeeping, accounting and budgeting are monitored through the help and guidance of VW Gregorio Vicente, Jr. who serves as its Treasurer. He made sure that the monthly and annual financial reports, financial statements, and other sponsorship are up to date. He is a detail-oriented person who patiently checks every cent that the organization spends.
MW Santiago Gabionza, Jr., PGM, guided the board for any Policies and legal matters to be taken. The board ensure that the organization follows the instructions of the Securities and Exchange Commission, its partner organization and adhere its Bylaws.
VW Sonny Wang, served as the Internal Auditor of MCCCI. He is known for his strict implementation on programs and/or services that the charity is involved. He examine through all the request for purchases thoroughly.
As per list of accomplishments and contributions, the number of assisted cases or patients during the leadership of MW Rentoy doubled. His attendance to the monthly regular meeting including his active participation in all the events that required MCCCI representations, he was there. MW Rentoy is influenced by his Self-actualization in his service to the crippled children. He was able to align his work and masonic goals to a deeper sense of purpose and values.
There are two (2) reserved members of the board, namely: VW ANTONIO JOSON, JR. and VW ALFRED LI.
VW ANTONIO JOSON, JR who is also a batchmate of VW Lucas Ty and MW Beltran in 1980s. On top of being the longest Vice President serving the MCCCI as its Trustee, he is also a doctor. He is an Optometrist. If you will see in the 2016 rehabilitative assistance of MCCCI, there is a portion there that a retinoblastoma patient was assisted. The patient with retinoblastoma at that time was a girl ages 8 years old, her eye prosthesis was made by VW Joson. He made the prosthesis without charging professional fees, the guardian of that girl who was in her late 60's was grateful seeing that her granddaughter confidently smiled back as she wears the eye prosthesis.
MCCCI, being the charity arm of the Grand Lodge of the Philippines for the longest period of time has attained a sustainably period of years financially. VW ALFRED LI is the one who donated his Shares of Stocks to the Charity. It was in 2017 during the governance of MW Abraham Tolentino, PGM, when VW Alfred LI was removed from the office of MCCCI as its Board of Trustee. His donation have helped for MCCCI's financial sustainability in maintaining, organizing, assistance and all other forms of operational excellence of the charity.
