From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A Christian denomination is a religious body that believes in core Christian values with the addition of traditions and ways of worship or beliefs that are specific to a particular branch or rather, "denomination", of Christianity. The basic core beliefs of Christianity are set as a common starting point between all of the different "kinds" of Christianity and these specific traditions or ways of worship or additional beliefs (in addition to the basic core Christian beliefs) is what makes up these different Christian denominations. The specific denomination a Christian church or congregation practices can be observed in many ways, such as in the style the service is conducted in, the attire worn by attendees, specific ideologies and leadership roles in the church, an associated founder(s), as well as even the name itself having the denomination in it.
