Josef Průša (* 23. února 1990, Havlíčkův Brod[1]) is a Czech manufacturer of 3D printers and the owner of the Prusa Research company.

Life[edit]

Josef Průša studied applied informatics on Prague University of Economics and Business, which he did not finish. At the age of 19, he started to design 3D printers and in 2012 he founded the Prusa Research company. As the foundation for his business, he used the RepRap project - a 3D printer, which is able to partially replicate itself and it's available as open-source hardware.[2]

He lectures on 3D printing and open-source hardware. He teaches Arduino at the Filozofická fakulta Univerzity Karlovy and taught at the Vysoká škola uměleckoprůmyslová v Praze.[3][contradictory]

In 2021, Forbes magazine ranked him 75th among the richest Czechs with a net worth of CZK 4.3 billion.[4]
