History of "Mamoosa Pattan": Mamoosa is a Historical and one of the important village in Tehsil Pattan of Baramulla District in Jammu and Kashmir state of India. In ancient times a king named "Manoos Shah" stayed here and the village was named after him. The village comprised of five mohallas namely: 1:- Latipora 2:- Batpora 3:- Parpora 4:- Mirpora 5:- Bapora Background:- With a very rich cultural legacy, Mamoosa has been the birthplace of many erudite and well-read personalities. Village Mamoosa, inhabited by less than 3000 souls, still continues to be the centre to cater to the socio-economic and politico-social needs of this vast area.

Present Info:- With an enchanting landscape Mamoosa has a strong agricultural area where-in people grow crops such as rice, maize, and pulses while the main form of agriculture is rice and apple cultivation. The main source of irrigation that nourishes this part of land are streams. Major share of the agricultural production is that of balgaria and delicious apple which has carved its niche all across the Indian markets. Although a good number of people are working in the all famous government sector, however major chunk of the population is still associated with agricultural activities.

MALTAING: Experts some years back dug out “Maltaing” a hillock believed to be harboring some kind of treasure. However, the digging was later on suspended on the appearance of snakes at the said place. The bones and pots were seen after the digging.

MOOMSICH YAUR: One of the marvelous legendary features of this village that makes it a unique hamlet is the presence of four hundred years old sky-touchig, Pine Tree (Deodar) on a hillock, locally called as “Moomsich Yaur” measuring about 35 feet in girth, its roots are itself like big trees which adds the charismatic beauty of this spot.
