I am Marc Airhart, a science communicator with more than 20 years of experience. I am currently a science writer for the University of Texas at Austin's College of Natural Sciences. I cover research and education in biology, chemistry, neuroscience, computer science, physics and math. I write news and features for the school's website, annual print magazine Texas Scientist, and news releases. I also create podcasts and videos. I use social networking tools such as Facebook and Twitter to further promote research in the school. I have also freelance-written about science, nature, society and the environment for print, radio and online outlets. I am a long-time member of the National Association of Science Writers.

From 2006 to 2014, I was a science writer for UT Austin's Jackson School of Geosciences. From 1995 to 2006, I was a writer and producer for the daily science radio program Earth & Sky. I have also written for national publications including Scientific American, Mercury, StarDate Magazine and Wildflower Magazine.
